Copper and stainless steel: the perfect mix for every kitchen hero
The LIDL copper range, with pots and pans for every cooking idea, consists of a high-quality 4-layer mix where copper and stainless steel take the leading role. These two materials delight professional chefs and everyday heroes alike with many advantages, cleverly combined in our copper pots and pans.
Copper cookware for cooking and frying is an essential in any professional kitchen, as it combines the best cooking properties with a unique look.
Optimal temperature distributionA copper pan or pot always heats up evenly, from the base right to the rim. This allows you to cook or fry ingredients to perfection. Plus, no hot spots will form.
Excellent heat conductionCopper cookware saves a lot of time and energy because it heats up particularly quickly. This means your pasta water is ready in no time and your steak can be in the pan in a flash. You can also use your hob on a lower setting.
Rapid coolingExcellent heat conductivity also means that copper pans and pots cool down very quickly once the heat is turned off. This not only prevents food from overcooking or burning, but also increases safety in the kitchen.

If you were to use classic cookware made of pure copper, there would be a catch: the metal reacts with many acids and acidic foods. For example, you should never prepare a fresh tomato sauce or coq au vin in pure copper cookware. Doing so would cause copper ions to be released from the pan or pot, giving your food a metallic taste. What's more, pure copper is not magnetic – meaning the cookware would not be suitable for induction hobs.
That's why our copper range thinks one step ahead: here, the stylish metal forms the outer layer, while the main body is made of stainless steel. This keeps the look traditional, but takes the cooking properties to the next level:
- The thermal conductivity of copper meets the high durability of stainless steel
- Robust steel protects the softer copper
- Completely food-safe – no matter the ingredients
- Suitable for all hob types – including induction
- Oven-safe up to 250 degrees Celsius

How to care for your copper pots and pans
Do you like them shiny or with a natural patina? With copper cookware, the choice is yours. Over time, copper pots and pans will darken as the material oxidises in the air. This has no effect on their cooking performance! Still prefer that pure copper look? Here are a few easy tips to get your copper favourites gleaming again:
AI1. Sprinkle half a lemon with some salt and gently rub the copper. Then, rinse the residue with water and proceed to dry and polish the surface.
AI2. Alternatively, you can mix vinegar and salt (1:1) into a paste, rub it onto your pot or pan, then rinse and polish.
AI3. This also works with a paste made from baking soda or baking powder and a few drops of water.
Very important: always wash copper pots or pans by hand only. Use only warm water, a soft sponge and a little washing-up liquid. The stylish coating can be easily scratched in the dishwasher.
You don't have to worry about the inside of your copper pots and pans. The high-quality stainless steel is easy to clean. Just be careful not to scratch the surface with pointed or sharp objects.
