The Belgian supplier Greenyard N.V. is carrying out a recall of a frozen product.
Sint-Katelijne-Waver, 05.07.2018. The Belgian supplier Greenyard N.V. is carrying out a precautionary recall
of the following product due to consumer safety reasons, including all best before dates:
Freshona Supersweet Corn 450g
It cannot be ruled out that the above mentioned frozen product may have been contaminated by the bacterium
Listeria monocytogenes. Listeria monocytogenes can cause severe gastrointestinal disease (listeriosis) with
symptoms that can be similar to flu and include high fever, muscle ache or pain, chills, feeling or being sick and
diarrhea. Some population groups are more vulnerable to listeria infections, including those over 65 years of
age, pregnant women and their unborn babies, babies less than one month old and people with weakened
immune systems. For this reason if you have bought the above product do not consume it.
The specific product of the Belgian supplier Greenyard N.V. has been sold by Lidl Cyprus. For preventive health
protection reasons, Lidl Cyprus reacted immediately and withdrew the above product from its stores. We
therefore ask our customers who have bought the product to return it to any of our stores for a full refund.
The recall concerns only the specific frozen product of the Belgian supplier Greenyard N.V. Other frozen
products sold by Lidl Cyprus under the Freshona brand of other suppliers are not affected by this recall.
The Belgian supplier Greenyard N.V. wishes to apologise for any inconvenience caused.
